Gosh, where does an idea come from? Out of the blue? Thinking about it? Divine intervention?

In my case, it was the last. Yes, divine intervention. I just felt the Holy Spirt talking to me.

A little background here. During the Fall of 2024 the Southeast experienced two horrifically devastating hurricanes, Helene and Milton.

Having lived through 50+ years of hurricane seasons in the South, I know the anguish, heartache, work, worry, emotional toil, expense and even post traumatic insult that comes from deadly storms.

So it was a Sunday and Pop and I were in church. There was an effort by the church to fill buckets, the five gallon kinds from hardware stores, with supplies for those effected by the ravages of the storm.

My heart was so heavy. Of course, we wanted to be part of that, but in my mind, I was thinking what else can I do to help victims? It’s like we all want to ‘do something’ but what is that something?

Of course, we can donate money to reputable charities, and that’s a good thing. But, it stops there for the person. My prayer to God was to help me figure out what this something was that I needed to do.

After some time and at the most inconsequential moment, I felt the words, ‘Do what you love.’

And, that was all the spark of momentum I needed. I love to cook. I love to entertain. I love to feed people. I love to host. I love to have dinner parties. Yes, food is love.

That’s how ‘Dinner Parties with Love & Purpose’ was born. My thought was why stop with my dinner party designed to raise more money for hurricane relief, or any United States natural disaster.

That’s the short of it. The story. The reason that ‘Dinner Parties with Love & Purpose’ was conceived. It’s God’s work through anyone who’s ready to give so others can get their lives back on track.
